Some systems are experiencing issues

About This Site

This is the status page of the openSUSE infrastructure team, where you can get updates on how our systems are doing. If there are interruptions to service, we will post a note here.

As always, if you are experiencing any issues with the openSUSE infrastructure, don't hesitate to get in touch with us at admin@opensuse.org or via #opensuse-admin on Libera and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

We will schedule and contain any maintenance it deems as Major to the following time:

Thursday, 08:00 - 10:00 CET for all openSUSE Services

Maintenance
Infrastructure migration - Jenkins

The Jenkins server hosting ci.opensuse.org will move to a new location. Due to the service not being actively used, it will be migrated but only brought back up with low priority.

Edit: The machines have been shut down at the old location.

Infrastructure migration - Jitsi

The Jisti instance at meet.opensuse.org will be migrated to a new location, downtime is to be expected.

Edit: The migration is in progress. Edit 2: Progress is made on meet-test.opensuse.org. Until finalized, meet.opensuse.org will redirect there.

Past Incidents

Build Service OBS under heavy load

The OBS API is currently under heavy load and can not process further requests. The backend part is still available and working on the current queue - but new requests can not go in. The issue is currently investigated, no further information available.

  • What looked like a DDoS attack turned out to be some CI jobs running wild. Getting in contact with the admins of those machines should fix the issue. Currently waiting for the queues to cool down again.

    Software software.opensuse.org down

The software portal is currently not functional. While at a first view it looks like a problem with a port of the Ruby on Rails application driving the page, we need to further investigate what causes the problem. A rouge guess points to one of the latest installed package updates - but this is just a suspicion.

  • Someone changed something somewhere, so everything works again.

Authentication system Authentication issue forces multiple openSUSE services to go down or in read-only mode

A major issue with the authentication system results in downtime or read-only mode of many openSUSE services. They are marked either as 'partial outage' (read-only mode) or 'major outage' (down) here.

We expect the issue to persist until Monday, 2017-05-15.

  • Authentication problems are fixed. All affected services should recover in the next minutes.
