Expecting longer downtime for download.opensuse.org and the login servers for our wikis and connect.opensuse.org on Thursday morning, scheduled 6 years ago

Update: all systems up and running again. Thanks for your patience.

This Thursday, 2017-12-07, starting from 08:00 CET (07:00 UTC), we will do extensive maintenance on two very important services:

  • download.opensuse.org
  • login2.opensuse.org (login server for all wikis and connect.opensuse.org)

We hope to finish the work inside the normal maintenance window until 10:00 CET. But as we will not only reboot the machines, the downtime will last longer this time.

The work on login2.opensuse.org should be finished in around 30 minutes.

The work on download.opensuse.org might take a bit longer, including two or three reboots of the machine. If you want to get updates during the downtime, please visit our mirror page at: https://mirrors.opensuse.org/ and choose a mirror nearby that offers your wanted repositories/files.

Note: SUSE-IT together with the openSUSE Heroes routinely performs service to Services on an ongoing basis to ensure that everything is up to date and running smoothly.

Although outages may not necessarily impact your daily work, please understand that it might be necessary to interrupt service in order to install updates or improve functionality and quality of services. We will schedule and contain any maintenance it deems as Major to the following time: Thursday, 08:00 - 10:00 CET for openSUSE Services

Major Maintenance that is believed to be completed during the Window but are taking longer than expected will be communicated to you as efficiently as possible.
